Department of Epileptology
The Department of Epileptology in Bonn is one of the few clinics in Germany recognized as an Epilepsy Center Stage 1 and offers a full scale of all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures which are recognized today in the treatment of epilepsy.
The out-patient clinic annually treats more than 3000 patients from Germany and all over the world. Our ward - Ward Förster - has 28 beds for adult patients while Ward 4 of the Neurosurgery Clinic (pediatric ward) has another 4 beds for children with epilepsy.
An important focus of our work involves the presurgical diagnostic work-up. Each year, more than 100 patients undergo these very extensive examinations. For diagnostic procedures, our facilities have 8 single rooms, each with video/EEG recording equipment.
